for Sustainable Cultural Tourism Development and Promotion

This Forum is open for tourism and cultural tourism research professionals, practitioners and policy makers working in different regions of Europe

ECTN Research group is led by Barcelona University (Catalunya).
This group seeks to work collaboratively on research to improve our understanding of the contribution that cultural tourism makes to regional economies, the role that it plays in stimulating the creative industries and the universities and high education establishments with an interest in cultural tourism.
The Practitioners Groups and the Policy group will help frame to preferred areas of research.
The Network seek funding under Horizon 2020 for collaborative research and from other EU funding regimes for students and staff exchanges         (INTERREG EUROPE, Creative Europe, etc.).
Policy group is led by Region of Central Macedonia (EL), in order to utilize the evidence from the Research and Practitioner groups to influence policy makers working alongside regional politicians.
ECTN Practitioners Group is led by Sibiu County Tourism Association (RO), in order to exchange best practices and to work collaboratively on the development of practical tools to improve the planning and management of cultural tourism destinations.
An early priority is to work with Europa Nostra on an eco label for sustainable cultural tourism destinations and the development of a bench marking system to support this.
